Needle in a Haystack
Every year, the Chiefs of Shenanigans try to come up with at least one cache that sounds completely reasonable... right up until you actually have to do it. This year, we had a little help from our good friends TeamPhoenix421... who generously donated the "bones" of this cache to us for use during FF26.
When this container was dropped off at Pasha88's campsite during MWG26, the COS team IMMEDIATELY began working on a plan to bring some more shenanigans to life. This impromptu, sitting-around-on-our-golf-carts, tossing-ideas-around-like-a-hot-potato brainstorming session somehow led to the phrase: "What if we made people look for a needle in a haystack?"
And, well... here we are.
The cache is located at the posted coordinates and should be easy enough to find. Finding the actual logbook, however, is an entirely different adventure. Inside the right side of the main container you'll find a tool. You'll definitely need it, because you'll use it to search through a collection of hay bales. Hidden somewhere among them is a special container. Inside that container is the code you'll need to unlock the final logbook.
This is a gadget cache, so please be gentle. There's no need to take anything apart, remove the hay bales from the container, or apply excessive force to anything. Everything has been designed to work smoothly with a little patience and careful searching.
Once you've signed the log, please return the tool, replace the coded container exactly where you found it, and leave everything ready for the next cacher. Remember, the real challenge isn't finding it—it's making sure the next person still has a fair chance.
You'll need to bring your own pen, a little persistence, and a healthy sense of humour.
Because at Fall Fest... sometimes the only way to find the log is to search for a Needle in a Haystack.
