Geocache Description:

[ENGLISH]

In the fertile plain of Molina de Segura stands the imposing Casa del Canónigo (Canon’s House), commissioned in 1915 by the priest Jesús Mérida as a place for rest and prayer. The clergyman—who was also the parish priest of the Church of the Assumption in Cieza—enjoyed this country estate until his appointment as Bishop of Astorga, at which point, much to his regret, he had to part with the property. A standout feature of the building is its side tower—complete with a clock and bell—which was originally fitted out as a chapel. This stately Modernist-style house occupies a prime location about 800 meters from the Segura River, amidst farmland and irrigation channels. The residence is preserved as part of the municipality's historical and cultural heritage; while situated on private grounds, it remains a landmark of local *huerta* (agricultural landscape) tradition and architecture.

Please respect the surroundings, leave everything as you found it, and remember: the true treasure isn't just the geocache... it's the history that surrounds you while you search for it.
