About This Station
Morton Pinkney was a small railway station in Northamptonshire, England, situated on the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway (SMJR) line that ran between Stratford-upon-Avon and Towcester. Opened in 1873, it served the rural village of Moreton Pinkney and the surrounding agricultural community. The station passed to the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) at the 1923 Grouping and later to British Railways upon nationalisation in 1948. Like many minor rural stops on the SMJR network, it suffered from low passenger numbers and was closed to passengers in 1952, with the line itself eventually falling out of use in the following decade. Little remains of the station today, though the route can still be traced through the Northamptonshire countryside.
