This area of Mt Roskill / Lynfirld is very empty right now, so I am placing 5 new geocaches near the in the area
Bob Bodt Reserve is a small neighbourhood reserve in Mount Roskill that has been part of the local community for many years. Although it isn't a large park, it is home to several community facilities that are used by people of all ages. The reserve is owned and managed by Auckland Council, helping to provide an open space where local organisations can meet and families can gather.
The Waikōwhai Scout Group has called Bob Bodt Reserve home since the 1960s. The group itself was formed in 1958 and has introduced generations of young people to camping, outdoor adventures, leadership, and community service. The scout hall sits on council land and continues to be an important part of the reserve and the wider neighbourhood.
The reserve is also home to the Waikōwhai Kindergarten, which has been welcoming local children and families for many years. Located alongside the scout hall, it has become a familiar part of the community and provides early childhood education for families living in Mount Roskill and the surrounding area.
Today, Bob Bodt Reserve remains a valued local green space. It may be small, but it continues to bring the community together through its open grassed areas, the kindergarten, and the long-standing scout group that have been part of the reserve for decades.
The geocache is in middle of a tree. Please recover heavily as this area used by the scouts, as you can tell... The geocache container is 1L PB jar no trades but bring some along to put in. I didnt have any but I have only supplied logsheets. :)
