About the Annapolis Royal Lighthouse
A beacon where history and the river meet.
Built in 1889, the Annapolis Royal Lighthouse stands proudly along St. George Street overlooking the Annapolis River. Rising 28 feet above the shoreline, it continues to serve as an active navigational aid more than a century later. Long ago, ships travelled much farther up the river before the construction of the causeway changed navigation forever.
Today, this iconic lighthouse welcomes visitors to one of Canada's oldest communities—and perhaps your next hidden treasure.
