🛴 Well, well, well! I was having this conversation with rustynz, she has just got back a few weeks ago from an overseas trip to USA and Canada and I was telling her I felt the need to take my powerful e-scooter into town, and see if it could go up Liverpool St, THE STEEPEST STREET IN AUCKLAND! I came in from the bottom of the street and looked up! Quite a formidable sight I have to say, so I let loose, and up I went... not fast by any means, but a very moderate 16 km/hr, but it got up there! Whoo hoo I was soo impressed.
🛴 So while we were having this conversation, rusty asked me did I place a cache... my mind took a pause and I thought... no I didn't. So I said I suppose I should, she replied to me in a stern tone... Gorby... if you don't then I will. So I took it upon myself to say I WILL place a cache then rusty....lol. Challenge accepted.
🛴 So today I came back here but not on the scooter, I bought the car in and got an ftf on an earth cache then came here to place this one. I have been kind to my fellow cachers, the cache is not half way up or half way down but you'll get the idea.
🛴 So for those who like technical details, Liverpool St is 24.8% in terms of steepness, by comparison the beginning bit of Mnt Victoria over on the north shore is 17.4%, and the steepest street in New Zealand AND the world is the famous Baldwin St in Dunedin at a massive 35% (S45 51.016 E170 32.140). Not too sure if the scooter would be scooting up that one! Thanks rusty for the motivation.  Â
