It's been a long time since there's been one of these caches hidden: The Headwires caches are a way of bringing cachers and the curious to lesser known green spaces around the city. I began this series in a place now unrecognizable, and the future site of the train maintenance facility for the Ontario Line, but the aim has always been to bring people to quieter places with a sense of solitude from the surrounding city.
With the new opening of the East Don Trail, it feels right to return to this series. Hidden somewhere under the big Gatineau Hydro Corridor that cuts through Scarborough, lies a cache fitting for this special area.
The Meadoway, a recent initiative by the city, is a massive pollinator habitat that grows under much of this corridor, and is quite a lovely spot for anyone wanting to be outside.
Before you find this cache, I must ask:
How long will the Meadoway be once the project is fully realized?
