Since the beginning of mankind, the only thing constant has been… change. Change brought on necessity, which, as we all know, “is the Mother of Invention.” During this event, we will be playing a game based on a list of 100 of the world’s greatest inventions, as amended by the Bamarama Krewe to include some that influence, affect, or facilitate… geocaching. Put on your thinking caps and get ready to be amazed by the Ideas, Innovations, and Inventions benefiting geocachers.

Event Details:
IDEA: a thought, plan, or mental image that comes from thinking, learning, or imagining. It is a basic building block of human understanding, used to make choices, solve problems, or create new things. They might be a picture or concept describing what something is like, a suggestion for how to do or make something, a personal opinion or belief on a topic or how things should work, or an eternal pattern or ideal form that real-world objects embody. One might come to you simply in an ah-ha moment, like turning on a light bulb, or as an involved epiphany explaining the meaning of life.
INNOVATION: the process of turning a new idea into a useful and valuable reality. It involves the development of more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, works of art, or business models. An innovation might be sustaining (improving an existing product or service base on the needs of existing customers) or disruptive (creating a new product or service that creates a new market). Innovation is used in the modern world to retain competitive advantage.
INVENTION: is a brand-new device, method, or process crated through study, experimentation, and imagination. It brings something entirely new into existence that did not exist before, differing from an innovation, which usually updates or improves an already existing product or idea. The key types of inventions are technological (machines, tools, and digital items), scientific (formulas, medicine, and medical procedures), artistic/cultural (music, writing, and social practices), and accidental (such asVelcro, chemotherapy, and Post-It Notes).
After we gather at the museum, we will play a game involving a list of 100 Ideas, Innovations, and Inventions that have altered, changed, improved, fixed, transfixed, shaped, purified, bedazzled, transported, glorified, molded, contracted, expanded, communicated, or transformed the world as we know it – or our great-grandparents knew it. We will be looking for items on a list prepared, administered, and adjudicated by members of the BamaRama 2027 Krewe – based on a list of the world’s best 100 inventions (revised to include some that are essential or helpful for… geocaching).
Fabulous prizes will be awarded.
Seating will be limited so please bring your own camp chairs. A writing surface (i.e., folding tables or a lap-sized piece of heavy cardboard), and a flashlight might be useful as well.
There is no entrance fee and no purchase is required to attend.
Water will be provided.
