About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breathtaking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
About Logan Model Engineering Society
The Logan Model Engineering Society Inc is a volunteer-run, non-profit community organisation located in Woodridge, Queensland (within the Logan City council area) that specialises in model engineering and miniature live-steam train rides.
The society was originally formed in the late 1970s / early 1980s by local live-steam enthusiasts and hobbyist engineers. They wanted a dedicated space to run their hand-built, miniature locomotives and share their passion for traditional mechanical engineering with the Logan community.
Building the Track
The society’s home at Ewing Park in Woodridge was built entirely from the ground up by volunteers. Over the decades, members cleared the land, laid the concrete foundations, and welded the steel rails to create the current 300-metre dual-gauge track setup. They also constructed a clubhouse, passenger tunnels, steaming bays, and maintenance sheds to support the heavy miniature trains.
Preservation of Live-Steam Heritage
While modern electric and petrol-powered miniature trains are used today, the history of the society is deeply rooted in keeping traditional live-steam engineering alive. Many of the trains that run on public days are historic models built from scratch by members, requiring actual coal and water to generate steam power—mirroring the mechanics of Australia's early industrial steam age.
Decades of Community Service
For generations of families in the Logan and wider Brisbane areas, visiting the track on a Sunday has been a local tradition. The club operates entirely on the volunteer hours of its members, and the ticket prices have purposefully been kept low for decades to ensure it remains an affordable, accessible day out for local families.

The Cache
The cache is hidden rear where the trains run, so take care when searching that a model trains are not running (Mostly on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month).
At waypoint 1 (the listed coordinates) look for the light pole: there is a six digit number.
Let that number be represented by the letters ABCDEF
The cache may be found at South 27 37. F(E minus D) (F minus A)Â East 153 06.BF(F minus A)Â
