World Postcard Day commemorates the anniversary of the first official postcard sent in October 1869 in Austria and celebrates the enduring charm of sending and receiving postcards. The day encourages people worldwide to write and send postcards to friends, family, or even strangers, spreading joy and fostering connections across distances. It also highlights the cultural and historical significance of postcards as a form of communication that predates digital messaging.
