World Postcard Day has arrived! To celebrate, Ladybug Kids and BirkenstockReport teamed up by hosting events on August 22nd, in Soldotna (GCBVH1R), and August 29th, in Anchorage (GCBVKY6), to prepare the postcards to were sent worldwide. Today is the day we get to see what we got in return and enjoy the messages! Last year, we sent 53 post cards to 20 states, three Canadian provinces, and Brazil, and received 35 post cards.
What do you need to do? Nothing but show up with an appetite (buying breakfast is optional) and an interest in reading what cachers near and far have to say.Â
The official World Postcard Day is October 1, 2026, but Groundspeak will award a souvenir to cachers who attend an event or find a Letterbox Hybrid geocache between September 27 and October 4, 2026. World Postcard Day was first celbrated in 2019 to commemorate the 150th asnniversary of the first postcard.  See the Geocaching Blog for details.
This event will be held at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) at 501 East Tudor Road, between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.
