たった1日でも、みんなが動けば、世界が変わる！
ほんの2年ほど前、テキサス州ヒューストンのジオキャッシャー georeyna は1つの素朴な疑問を抱きました。
－ もしも、テキサス中のジオキャッシャーが一斉に各地域の清掃を行ったら何が起きるだろうか？
この素朴な疑問から、テキサス州ジオキャッシング協会(TXGA) は世界クリーンナップ・デーに併せて CITO Across Texas と名付けたイベントを企画しました。
テキサス中のジオキャッシャーが9月の第3土曜日にクリーンナップイベントを開催しました。それぞれのイベントは地域ごとに計画されましたが、これらのイベントが同時に行われることにより、何かもっと大きなものの一部となりました。このようにして CITO Across Texas は誕生したのです。
その結果は目を見張るものでした。2024年と2025年には次のような結果を残しました。
- テキサス州全体で50以上の CITO が開かれました。
- 700人を超えるボランティアが参加しました。
- 数千ポンドのごみが公園、遊歩道、水路、地域の近隣や公共の場所から撤去されました。
2026年には我々は次の段階に入ることにしました。世界中のジオキャッシャーのコミュニティーに我々のゲーム盤をきれいにする活動に招待することです。

One Day. Many Communities. A World of Difference.
A little over 2 years ago georeyna a geocacher in Houston, TX asked a simple question - What could happen if geocachers around Texas came together on one day to make their communities cleaner? Based on that simple question, Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) created an event named CITO Across Texas in conjunction with World Cleanup Day.
Geocachers throughout Texas held cleanup events on the third Saturday in September. Each event is locally organized, but together they became part of something much bigger. CITO Across Texas was born!
The results have been tremendous. During 2024 and 2025:
- More than 50 CITO events were held across Texas.
- More than 700 volunteers participated.
- Thousands of pounds of trash were removed from parks, trails, waterways, neighborhoods, and other public spaces.
In 2026, we want to take the next step and we are inviting the worldwide community of geocachers to help clean up our game board.

ということで、この活動に日本から初めて参加を表意することにしました。皆様の参加をお待ちしております。
- 集 合 場 所 : 二本松市霞ヶ城公園第一駐車場
- 時 間 : 10:00～11:00
- 内 容 : 霞が城公園内のごみ拾い等
- 準備する物 : 軍手、飲み物、帽子、タオル等 (各自の必要に応じて)
- ごみの処理 : 基本的にはお持ち帰っていただけると助かります。二本松市のごみの分類は複雑で混乱すると思いますので。
- そ の 他 : 集合場所は、WHERIGOキャッシュのスタート地点にもなっています。当日は、このコースに沿って清掃活動を予定しています。こちらに挑戦したい方（任意）は事前にアプリとカートリッジをダウロードして連携させておくことをお勧めします。霞ヶ城公園は標高差約100メートルありますので、適切な履物や服装でご参加ください。

Let's pick up trash along the WHERIGO cache! Bring your gloves and drinks, towels, cap and what you need during this activity. Since the castle stood on the hill you have to climb about a hundred meters. Prepare proper shoes and clothings.
