Long before geocaching built an entire community, the mailbox was another way to discover the world and connect with others. Geocaching and postcards both unite humans through shared experiences and turn ordinary places into meaningful destinations. Whether you sign a log sheet or a postcard, you’re connecting with someone through the joy of discovery.
Observed every year on October 1, World Postcard Day celebrates the very first postcard, innovating the world forever. Since 2019, the day has encouraged people worldwide to write, mail, and exchange postcards to spread joy, connect with others, and celebrate the tradition of handwritten mail.
🏆 Earn Your Official Souvenir Here!
The mailbox isn’t the only place to find something special in October. You can earn the official World Postcard Day 2026 souvenir by attending this very event! Simply sign our physical logbook and post your "Attended" log online anytime between September 27 and October 4, 2026. (Alternatively, you can also grab it by finding and logging a Letterbox Hybrid during that same window!)
📬 The Mail Station & Swap
To honor the tradition of handwritten connections, we will have a dedicated postcard station set up right inside the cafe:
- Bring a Blank Card: Attendees are encouraged to bring a postcard (geocaching-themed, touristy, or funny) with a stamp.
- The Basket Exchange: Drop your card into our event basket. Before you head out, pull a random card out to take home as a keepsake or send to a pen pal!
- Write on Site: We will provide addresses, pens, markers, and decorations if you want to write your cards out while sipping your favorite brew.
☕ Venue Spotlight: Grind ‘N’ Gears
We are gathering at Grind ‘N’ Gears, a unique, local motorcycle-themed cafe.
- Perks: Free Wi-Fi, ambient music, and dogs are allowed inside if you are coming with a furry sidekick.
- Menu Highlights: Reviewers rave about their incredibly rich lattes and hot chocolate.
- Guidelines: Making a purchase is not required to attend or sign the log, but please consider supporting this great local spot!

- Will Attend: Please drop your "Will Attend" log early so I can give the cafe owner an accurate headcount.
- Attended: Show up, hang out, and sign the physical logbook to claim your official smiley and souvenir.
