CacheFest – Cherbourg Special Event
We are pleased to announce a very special CacheFest event ....... the Bert Button Lookout in Cherbourg!
This is going to be a little different from some of our other stops during the weekend, giving us the opportunity to visit Cherbourg, take in the spectacular views from the lookout and experience a little more of this unique Aboriginal community.
If you have been to Cherbourg before, you may be in for a surprise. A lot has changed in recent years, with a thriving community, there is plenty happening and lots of welcoming smiles from the locals.
We could not see a better place to gather than Bert Button Lookout. Named in honour of Cr Bert Button, a respected Cherbourg community leader, the lookout provides a wonderful opportunity to pause, take in the surrounding landscape and reflect on the people and stories that have shaped this unique Queensland community.
Of course, this wouldn't be a CacheFest event without adding something a little extra! We have a couple of surprises planned for the event, so you will have to come along and see what we have in store. Combine that with the great views, the welcoming smiles of the locals and a bunch of geocachers descending on the lookout, and we are pretty sure this will be a memorable part of the CacheFest weekend.
So make sure Cherbourg is on your itinerary, bring your camera, bring a smile and come along for something a little different.
