World Postcard 📮 Day Event Cache

Long before geocaching built an entire community, the postbox 📮 was another way to discover the world and connect with others.  Geocaching and postcards both unite through shared experiences and turn ordinary places into meaningful destinations. Whether you sign a log sheet or a postcard, you’re connecting with someone through the joy of discovery.

World Postcard Day (1st October) celebrates the very first postcard, innovating the world forever. Since 2019, the day encourages people worldwide to write, mail, and exchange postcards to spread joy, connect with others, and celebrate the tradition of handwritten mail.

Earn the World Postcard Day 2026 souvenir from 27th September to 4th October 2026 by:

• Attending THIS event (or another one) and posting an Attended log
  OR
• Finding and logging one Letterbox Hybrid (rare ... unfortunately not many about in the local area of Carlisle or Cumbria)
   

All are welcome ... old and new.  It would be great if like minded people: locals and tourists could join for a chat, swop tips, hints and stories.  

We are hoping you will also join us to have a postcard swop.
