The famous embroidery is only an arrow throw away from this geocaching event at the Penderel's Oak

Geocaching event on the 960th anniversary of conquest day - The Battle of Hastings.  We meet to drown our sorrows for the end of the Anglo-Saxons period or to celebrate the commence of French sophistication to the new Anglo-Norman age. Either way meet fellow geocachers at the Penderel's Oak pub to chat about all things caching and maybe embroidery. The large pub serves a wide range of food and drinks throughout the duration of this event. Feel free to exchange Trackables that you hold. 
 

The famous Bayeux Tapestry is back in England for the first time since it was created almost a 1000 years ago. The British Museum has the tapestry on load while the home museum in Bayeux is being refurbished. It's believed that nuns made the tapestry, when in fact it's an embroidery, at Canterbury soon after the conquest. Its whereabouts was lost in time for many centuries until it was recorded that this work of art was being displayed at Bayeux catherdral in the 15th century on certain days of the year.
