Decades ago I used to run up a very steep trail from Peterson Creek. The route was up the spine of a steep ridge to the top of Tower Hill, starting at Peterson Creek. I took others up the trail, but most found it too steep. It acquired the nickname "Doug's Dream." There are much more moderate ways to run, hike, or bike to the top of Tower Hill, but in recent years, the mountain bike community has added a new trail that goes down the gully next to the ridge, called V Max. It is a downhill trail, so anyone who goes up should be alert to riders coming down in season. To place the cache, I hiked up the bike trail, then traversed over to the ridge trail. After placing the cache, I came down the D's Dream Trail. Most hikers will choose to take other trails to the Tower and then to the cache site. Because of the steep terrain, there won't be many visitors to the spot.
