Geocache Description:

Geocoins

September 30, 2026, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Orchard Park

On September 30, 2001, Moun10Bike Geocoin #002 became the first geocoin ever placed in circulation when I dropped it into Light House Point. What started as one coin has grown into a worldwide tradition of minting, moving, trading, and collecting these trackable metal calling cards. Join me in celebrating 25 years of geocoins!

We will be meeting in the picnic shelter at Orchard Park at 4:00 PM. If all goes as planned, the event will include:

  • A raffle drawing for a few interesting trinkets (that may or may not be geocoins and include a special surprise)
    •
  • A cake commemorating 25 years of geocoins
    •
  • Display of Moun10Bike Geocoin #001 for discovery

I hope to see you there!
