Geocache Description:

Welcome to event #17 - Lauriston Reservoir

As the third water storage to be built, Lauriston Reservoir was constructed in the 1930s to supplement Bendigo’s urban supply. It’s the deepest water storage in the Coliban Water system. The system now provides 100% of Tylden’s water with the majority of water for Kyneton being pumped from the Lauriston Reservoir.

When:      Saturday 7th November 2026

Time:       12pm - 12:45pm

Details:    BYO food and/or beverages

  • Parking, picnic tables, shelter and BBQ's at the location
  • Toilets and playground nearby
  • Fishing, boats with electric motor and kayaks/canoes allowed

Why did we start these CUBTW events? To explore different areas via geocaching. Whether it be a river, a lake, the ocean or a waterfall there is something special about being by water so we decided to combine them. So far we have held 16 events across Victoria and Tasmania.

Hope you can make it.
