Le pont romain est un pont en granit sur arches dont les encoches visibles sur ses flancs témoignent de la présence d'anciennes vannes en bois servant de barrage. L'étang ainsi formé permettait de réguler le cours de la rivière qui alimentait deux moulins à céréales plus loin en aval.
