A GC on a scenic ridge betwixt/between Sunrise Mountain and GMS Hill. From whichever route hikers choose, this is a hard spot to get to. On the day the cache was placed, I hiked over Sunrise Mountain and then angled south by southwest west into the gully to pick up an old track that runs between the hills. At a junction the left fork goes to the open ridge viewpoint. I have also hiked to GMS Hill from the end of Pratt Road, though this would require good navigation. I have also hiked over to this ridge and Sunset Mountain from the Rose Hill area, but his requires crossing some fencelines, so it is not recommended.
The GC is at one of the best viewpoints of Barnhartvale and the hills to the east. Because of its location, it is unlikely to see many geocachers, but for any intrepid hiker, it is a rewarding spot.
