π₯ HOLD ON... TWO WELCOME SIGNS?!
Well, well, well...
Just when we thought the Cow Omelet series couldn't get any more ridiculous, something rather extraordinary has happened!
We've discovered something so rare, so magnificent and so utterly egg-straordinary that even the chickens are struggling to believe it.
TWO WELCOME SIGNS, SIDE BY SIDE!
One welcoming visitors to Darlington.
The other welcoming visitors to Hurworth.
Two locations sharing one rather wonderful welcoming spot!
And you know what that means?
π₯π₯ A DOUBLE YOLKER! π₯π₯
That's right, folks! We've cracked open a completely new level of Cow Omelet madness!
π THE GREAT DOUBLE YOLKER DISASTER!
Our resident Cow Omelet chef was enjoying a perfectly ordinary morning, preparing breakfast and wondering where to hide her next geocache.
Everything was going swimmingly.
The frying pan was heating up.
The bread was in the toaster.
The GPS was charged.
And the cow had only managed to burn herself twice.
Then disaster struck!
While cracking an egg into her frying pan, she discovered something remarkable...
TWO YOLKS!
Our bewildered bovine stared at the pan.
She blinked.
She counted again.
One yolk...
Two yolks...
"HOLY MOO! I'VE INVENTED DOUBLE BREAKFAST!"
Convinced she had made the greatest scientific discovery since sliced bread, she immediately set off to tell the world.
Unfortunately, she forgot to turn off the cooker.
And bring the frying pan.
And put her trousers on.
Never mind. Cows don't usually wear trousers anyway.
π§ THE NORTHWARD GLINT HOUR!
Armed with her trusty GPS and a suspiciously large supply of eggs, our intrepid cow began her journey northward.
She followed the roads, crossed the countryside and eventually arrived at a most unusual sight.
TWO WELCOME SIGNS!
One for Hurworth and one for Darlington!
Just as she approached, the afternoon sunshine caught the signs, creating a magnificent golden glint.
Our cow gasped.
She looked at her two egg yolks.
She looked at the two welcome signs.
She looked at her GPS.
Then, with a look of absolute triumph, she announced...
"IT'S THE NORTHWARD GLINT HOUR!"
Nobody knows exactly what that means.
Least of all the cow.
But she seemed terribly pleased with herself.
Unfortunately, her excitement caused her to drop the frying pan, launching a rather spectacular omelet across the pavement.
Several passing pigeons have since declared the incident a national emergency.
One seagull has demanded compensation.
And a nearby chicken is claiming ownership of both yolks.
Police have described the situation as...
"Completely scrambled."
π₯ WHAT MAKES THIS A DOUBLE YOLKER?
Normally, a Cow Omelet is based on the welcome sign for a single town or village.
But occasionally, something rather special happens!
Two different locations can have their welcome signs positioned right next to each other.
And that's exactly what we've discovered here!
Rather than create two separate Cow Omelets, we've combined BOTH location names into ONE enormous anagram!
HURWORTH + DARLINGTON
becomes
NORTHWARD GLINT HOUR!
Every letter used exactly once!
No extra letters. No missing letters.
Just one gloriously ridiculous anagram!
Two welcome signs, two locations and one geocache celebrating both!
We couldn't resist calling this special combination a...
THE DOUBLE YOLKER!
After all, why settle for one yolk when you can have two?
π WHAT IS COW OMELET?
COW OMELET is an anagram of WELCOME TO.
The series celebrates towns, villages and cities across the country by turning their names into completely new, and often rather ridiculous, anagrams.
Each cache is intended to welcome geocachers to a location, ideally close to a genuine welcome sign or recognised entrance.
Most Cow Omelets use the letters of one location.
But as you've probably gathered, this one is a little different!
This Double Yolker combines the letters of Hurworth and Darlington because their welcome signs are positioned alongside one another.
It's a rather unusual example of the original Welcome To idea!
The Cow Omelet series was originally created by AIRHORNS and is now managed by TheSpecialAgents.

π¦ THE CACHE
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to locate this very special Double Yolker!
There's no need to bring two GPS devices, two pens or two frying pans.
One of each should be quite sufficient!
Please sign the logbook and carefully replace the cache exactly as found.
Bring your own pen, just in case.
Keep an eye out for muggles, particularly those who appear suspiciously interested in breakfast.
And remember...
Despite the name, there is only ONE geocache to find!
β οΈ PLEASE TAKE CARE NEAR THE ROAD
This location is close to a road, so please be mindful of passing traffic when approaching, searching for and replacing the cache.
Please keep children and dogs under close supervision.
There is no need to stand in the road, obstruct traffic or put yourself at risk to retrieve the container.
If arriving by car, please park safely and considerately without obstructing access or other road users.
Your safety is far more important than finding a plastic box!
After all, we're trying to make omelets here, not become one!
π₯π₯ HAPPY DOUBLE YOLKING! π₯π₯
