This virtual cache is in a popular Lee County Park. Cost to park your vehicle is $.75 per hour.
This beautiful park is a fairly recent addition to Lee County, but the spot has been popular with manatee lovers for years. Each winter, manatees travel inland in search of warmer water. The power plant on the river here provides a warm area for the gentle sea cows. The park has a beautiful stretch along the river where you can see manatees in the colder months and also view beautiful butterflies in the native plant garden. There are picnic tables for eating and canoes for rent so you can make a day of it at the park.
The park is mostly swamp and as it is very small and very busy we felt that a virtual cache was the only way for other geocachers to visit this area after we tried unsuccesfully to place a microcache with just a log book here.
