Fort Deseret was built in 1866. In the West Desert. Thanks to the Daughters of The Utah Pioneers a monument Was made in 1937 to preserve this site. The fort is slowly falling apart but the monument will stand for years. While you are here spend some time and walk over to the fort and take a good look. Also bring your lunch and have a picnic tables are provided. To claim this cache you will need to email us with the answers to These questions. 1. Why was the fort built? 2. What were the walls made of? 3. Which war was it?
