Hike along mountain trail parallel to wash. Through tunnel of rock with Lake in view all the way. Continue on trail.

Take US 95 to Nelson turnoff.
Be sure to stop on the way (or on the way back) at the General Store/Museum and check out "Nelson Virtual" Cache.

It is a desert cache, but near water. Use care hiking in washes and along rocky mountainous trails. Remember, washes can be deadly during rainstorms. Watch out for spiders, scorpions and snakes. Bring water (and a picnic if you have time because this area offers some unexpectedly epic views).
NOW...because of the cache being REPEATEDLY stolen...the original cache has been moved and replaced with a small Rubbermaid container with a variety of really nifty items! So, if you haven't bagged it yet, please do! Take time to enjoy the quiet beauty of this underrated location.
