Geocache Description:

This is a wonderful 2.5 mile hike in a beautiful forest. It is a bit steep at times but otherwise suitible for all ages. I entered the trails from SR900 by the Sunset Quarry pit. SR900 is extremely busy so be careful walking the shoulder to the trailhead. The Cache is a Small Ammo can.

The Bullitt family in 1972 gave the State of Washington Parks 590 acres to be kept "wild forever." This created the Squak Mountain State Park, the steepest of the Alps. It is a wonderful park with fewer trails and less people then Cougar or Tiger. In all my wanderings on Squak I have never seen more then a handfull of people on a given day. The Bullitt fireplace is a great place to hike to and enjoy a picnic lunch.
