Hidden in a fairly obvious location. Depending on which way you come at it will determine the amount of hill climbing and bushwacking required. Some may be easier than others.
This cache is hidden in what is called The Basswood Preserve. It is owned and maintained by Western Michigan University. This preserve previously was called Arcadia Course, used mainly as a cross country course by WMU. It appears that this is still its primary use, however we saw a dogsled and a team of dogs on the day we found this spot. If you have cross country skis, bring them! Also, there some awesome sledding hills near parking spot 1, and near the cache, bring the kids, bring the dog, bring the sleds!
The cache is in a large ammo box, hidden from plain view. It contains the usual assortment of cache items, we are also starting out a new travel bug in this cache.
There are at least 4 entrances to this preserve, I will give you 2 of them. If you can find the others, go for it!
Entrance one : N 42 17.280 W 85 37.590
Park at the end of the driveway by the guardrails. If it is after normal working hours or on the weekend, you should be ok to park right in front of the gate. The driveway leads to a city water building. Some of the sledding hills are right behind the brick building.
Entrance two : N 42 17.112 W 85 37.830
Park at the end of Dobbin St. There is no sign here, but if you see a gate in the chainlink fence, you are in the right place.
