Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Bardstown where the home that inspired American Song Writer Stephen C. Foster to write his most enduring romantic ballad, "My Old Kentucky Home" is located.

Beginning in the early 1800's the citizens began building some of the most spectacular homes to be found west of Philadlphia and Baltimore. Many of these old homes survive today giving the visitor and the residents alike an opportunity to relive the past. Bardstown is known to many as the "Bourbon Capital of the World".

If you have the opportunity you will want to spend at least a weekend in Bardstown. It takes that long to get the lie of the land. The choice locations to stay are one of the several Bardstown Bed & Breakfasts. If you need info on attractions while there, you can find an information booth on the main square of town.

The cache is square lock and lock container. If the gates to the picnic area are closed or in the winter, you will have to park at N37*47.791 W085*27.432 and hike over to the picnic ground road, then make you way to the cache.

Please cover the cache as you found it.
