Geocache Description:

The Shire, or Hobbiton, as it is called, is the the dwelling place of the Hobbits and also contains the hidden cache of their treasure.

We learn from the Prologue to The Lord of The Rings that "Even in ancient days [Hobbits] were, as a rule, shy of 'the Big Folk' as they call us, and now they avoid us with dismay and are becoming hard to find. They possessed from the first the art of disappearing swiftly and silently, when large folk whom they do not wish to meet come blundering by; and this art they have developed until to Men it may seem magical." The Shire where the Hobbits live has been hidden among us, right in the middle of our big city.

Up until now, that is. Word has spread out from the Shire the coordinates of a hidden treasure spot right in the middle of the hobbit's dwelling place. Most likely, you have passed within a few hundred feet of the Shire without even knowing it. Even knowing the exact coordinates does not always guarantee that you can find the path to Hobbiton. But, if you are patient, and quiet, you may be just lucky enough to stumble upon the spot and maybe even spot a hobbit.

There could be many ways to the actual spot, so I will leave you to your own devices to find the easiest way. A hobbit can make a round trip in 20 minutes, so there is an easy way to get there. All but the last hill is an easy walk down a shaded path. Though it is steep at the end, you should not have to scramble at all with your hands.

The difficulty is not so much for the terrain, or the hiding spot, but to reflect the difficulty in finding how to get to the general area in the first place.
