The location of this cache offers a birds-eye view of Sulphur Creek Reservoir in Laguna Niguel Regional Park, as well as Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
Monkey Amanda and I checked on the Funky Monkey geocache on Sunday, February 8, 2004, and found that it had either been pilfered, or perhaps removed by an overzealous park ranger from nearby Sulphur Creek Regional Park. Although this cache is located outside the park, I was recently made aware that the rangers there have gotten very aggressive in protecting the natural vegetation in the area. I am going to contact the rangers and see if they removed the cache, and, if so, see if we can come to an agreeable solution about where to place this cache. We cannot tell you how many people have visited this cache and given high praise for its beautiful location. If for any reason we do not continue this cache, we do have an idea for a new cache site in the same general area.
