Before the Buffalo Bill Dam was built, there was a town at the base of Cedar Mountain called Marquette. When the dam was constructed, Marquette was evacuated and was soon after flooded by the reservoir. The water used to get so low that you could see the chimneys of some of the buildings sticking out. This no longer happens, but some of the town is still there. This cache was placed and named after Marquette. Be aware of your surroundings. This is prime habitat for rattle snakes and other kinds of wild life. Have fun. Happy geo caching.
