Walkers Forge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Led Zeppole: Drove up to Maple Lake this afternoon and recovered the cache. This hide had a good five-year run, from January 2003 to February 2005 under Two River Walk, then from February 2005 to February 2008 under me. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

Located in the Maple Lake Wildlife Management Area west of Route 50 and north of Maple Ave. in Estell Manor, Atlantic County.

I formally adopted this cache on February 6, 2005. Hidden in a moderately wooded area between Maple Lake and a heavily rutted, poorly maintained dirt road that is listed on maps as Burnett Ave. There is a dirt parking area off of Maple Ave. next to the lake. It is possible to drive most of the way to ground zero, but four-wheel drive is highly recommended if you choose to do so. A generally pleasant walk during the spring and summer, but there are briars in the vicinity of the cache, so watch your step. The Maple Lake WMA is closed between 9 pm and 5 am, so please do not attempt this as a night cache. Hunting is permitted in this wildlife management area during the appropriate season, so if in doubt, wear orange. Visit njfishandwildlife.com for more information. The gel packs in the cache and with the log are not trade items, they are there to help control condensation, please leave them in place. Cache is completely hidden, please re-hide accordingly. Happy caching!
