Cache is located near old flourite mine. "Crystal canyon" is somewhat of a misnomer, the hike leads you up a beautifully eroded wash out which contains many pieces of flourite washed down from the mine. Hike is little over 1 mile with gentle elevation change. 45 min. - 1 hour up with one river crossing.
From Hwy. 180 take Hwy. 211 (from cliff or gila) to junction 293. Follow Hwy 293 all the way to the end, road will turn into forest road and end at Box Canyon. You can cross river anywhere but I like to park at the far south end of camping area. Proceed to N33.02.278 W 108.31.836 this is the wash entrance. Follow wash up mountain to a fork @ N33.02.402 W108.31.083, turn right and follow that wash to mine area and cache. One mine shaft is closed but others are not and are VERY DANGEROUS- do not enter. Look for flourite (green & purple) on the way up it is everywhere.
Cache is 4qt. plastic container. Contents are; cigar book, cards, Geo-mouse # 17, fiberobtic egg and stand, star trek plate, shark tooth, desert rose, and travel bug, + more
GPS may be hampered by surrounding mountains- last sentence of hints is giveaway location.
