Bladon Springs Park

Visit us at www.msga.net - Home of the Mississippi Geocachers Association

This is a micro cache set in Historic Bladon Springs Park. These springs were noted for their restorative and curative powers and date back to the early 1800's. People from all over the world came to the springs to enjoy the area and seek remedies for their various ailments. In 1846 a hotel, that housed one of the largest dancehalls ever, was built on the grounds. Additionally the hotel boasted amenities such as a skating rink, bowling alley, billiard rooms and croquet grounds. All was well until the closing days of the Civil War. Union Troops burned the hotel and surrounding homes to the ground. The springs are still in existance and there are picnic grounds and hiking trails to enjoy. For you Geocachers out there who have some aches and pains, come and test the springs curative powers.
