I thought I would share a small hidden treasure in my neighborhood. This small park contains a couple of historic landmarks. It contains the oldest house in Glendale that was built around 1828. It also contains the remnants of a tree of peace that commemorated a treaty between Mexico and the U.S. Unfortunately, there are no posted hours, but weekends the gates seem to be open by 10 am. During the week, is a little more hit and miss. But on Monday the gate was open when I stopped by at 4:30pm. In order to get credit for the cache you will need to email me the answers to two questions, which can be answered even if the gates are locked. To really impress me, you can answer a bonus question, but this requires that you enter the park.
1: What type of tree was the tree of peace?
2: What State Historical Landmark Number is this?
Bonus Question: What was Don Jose Verdugo's own name for the Rancho San Rafael Land he was granted?
I hope you enjoy, take time to sit and relax.
