You can park down the street if there is room.Do not block driveways.Remember this is neiborhood and your probably being watched. Tread lightly, be quiet, do not disturb, and most of all don't get stumped. This was e mailed to me from a neighbor of the park:
The park is named after Ted Edwards. He donated the land about thirty+ years ago to the city as a neighborhood park. Ted developed and built most of the houses around the edge of the park. If you look closely at the houses on oriental and Loewel, they are all the same. He used the same floorplan on every house. The only major changes were to build mirrored images of the plan on every other house. In fact, much of the lumber in the houses were cut from the property they were built on. Ted would build a house, live in it and then build his next house. Did that for years! The park was originally named Truax Park after an old city government official. After Ted passed away a few years ago, my father and I harassed the county to rename the park after Ted. The original person was not very popular and really had nothing to do with this part of town. They closed the park gates over ten years ago. The county did not want to spend anymore money on small parks and cars kept getting stuck in the parking area! Late at night, they would come up and bother Ted to get a tow...it did not amuse him at all!
One last note: The picnic benches and shelters are all Eagle Scout projects from local scouts. Must have benn a dozen eagle scout projects done in the park in the last three decades.
