Geocache Description:

Take Little Applegate Rd 10.9 miles to the trail head.It is not the Bear Gulch trail even though you could go this way.

This is the Sterling Ditch it was dug by 400 Chinese workers in 1877.They needed to get water above the creek to wash out the gold that was stranded on the slopes in the ancient river gravel.This ditch is over 26 miles long and three feet deep.You will have to hike 1 mile to get to the ditch.It starts at the Little Applegate river.Nowadays this trail along the ditch is 17 miles long.You will only have to hike about 1 1/4 mile to the cache site.Have fun.

The Cache is in a rubbermaid container wrapped in a black garbage bag.
