Geocache Description:

The cache is at the end of a very short dock/boardwalk in Split Oak Forest. From Orlando International Airport, go east on 528 (Beeline Expressway) for 2.5 miles to County Road 15 (Narcoossee Rd.), and turn south. Follow County Rd. 15 for 7 miles. Turn east on Clapp-Simms-Duda Rd and follow signs to park entrance. The hike to this cache is several miles round trip.

Long hike, the trail will get you close! The overlook is not well marked and many people visit this 1,689-acre park with out finding this site. If you liked our Weekends Only Cache You should also like this one. The hike is much, much, longer at split oak, it can be muddy and the sand may be soft but it is worth the hike.

Located in Split Oak Forest, You will likely pass the 200 year old tree that the forest is named after on the way to the cache.

To claim credit for this cache please post a photo or email me the answer to the following question:

What are some of the animals you are likely to see at the cache location? (hint read the sign)

This is a virtual cache because of enviromental conserns near the pond. While you are in the park check out our non-virtual Split Oak cache
