Geocache Description:

Easy Virtual Cache, Accessible Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (area closed on Sundays). Wheelchair accessible. Spend some time here and discover the beautiful gardens in the summer.

On Monday February 17, a brass marker was placed here announcing Utah’s population epicenter. Geographically, the longitude and latitude of this marker identifies the spot determined to be the center of Utah’s population. The National Society of Professional Surveyors along with the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping and the National Geodetic Survey are encouraging all states to place a similar special brass marker in their states as well.

To claim credit for this cache, please send me in a separate e-mail answering the following two questions.

1)Which census year was used to determine that this was the epicenter of Utah?

and

2)What are the top and bottom logos provided on the brass marker. (Please indicate which is on top and which is on the bottom.)

Please do not answer the question in your log, even if encrypted. All answers posted on the website will be deleted.

While you are here. Feel free to take advantage of another treasure hunt underway for the next several weeks. Thanksgiving Point had so much fun with the Geocaching Adventure last year, they have launched another program where GPS coordinates will be available for some of the legs.

You can pick up the latest information and clues for the treasure map at the stage coach, not far from this site.
