Geocache Description:

This appears to be the site of the smelter from which Smelter Knoll gets its name. I seem to remember hearing or reading that the smelter was built out at Joy, then moved to this spot, and then moved again, this time to Leamington Canyon. However, I have not been able to find any verification or further information. I was going to place a traditional cache here, but a lack of good hiding places convinced me to make this a virtual cache. To claim this cache, e-mail me with the answers to these questions. Please do not log the answers on the web page. 1. What color is the pile of rocks at N 39 23.707 W 112 53.090 2. What color is the pile of rocks at N 39 23.700 W 112 53.094 3. What color is the pile of rocks at N 39 23.686 W 112 53.105 Itโ€™s not necessary to claim the cache, but by looking at the rock chips between and to the west of the first two piles, what mineral was processed at the smelter? Again, please donโ€™t post the answer.
