The difficulty rating for this cache is based on the
coordination necessary to complete the logging requirements.
To log this cache, you'll need to...
Have a cell phone with service coverage in Missoula, MT.
Have a computer literate friend with Internet access and a
separate phone line standing by ready to get a copy of the camera image. Check that the
camera is working, and that your friend knows how to capture the
image, before proceeding to the next step.
UPDATE - Some folks have been having trouble following the link
from this cache page. But the webpage itself still works fine. Try
copying the link and pasting it into a new tab in your browser, or
just going to the University of Montana's homepage and searching
for 'webcam'.
Go to the coordinates posted at the top of this page. They lead
to a section of sidewalk near Jesse Hall, on the University of
Montana campus, so finding an appropriate place to stand should be
relatively simple.
Call your friend, have them log into the website, and take
control of the camera. When the site is busy, they will only have
control for 30 seconds, so they will have to work quickly.
When your friend is ready, wave at the camera while your friend
gets a copy of the image by clicking on the camera button at the
bottom of the image. This will open a new window with the captured
image. If it is suitable, right click on the image and save.
Feel self conscious as everybody wanders by, wondering who you
are waving at.
Post the image from the camera of you waving with your "Found
It" log. Do not submit the log until you are ready to post the
image.
Note to your friend at the computer: Please save as a jpg
file no larger than 100k. You can use an image editing program to
adjust the size.
Bonus: For extra brownie points, bring a BIG sign that
says "GEOCACHING.COM", and hold it up for the camera instead
of waving.
