Geocache Description:

This is a really cool rock formation that has been an attraction in the Napa Valley for years. Even though it has been around for quite some time, many people don't know about it (even some of the locals who have lived here for years!) The neat thing about this rock formation is that it is natural and not man made...well, there is a part of it that was added on later by man to bring attention to this cool rock, but the addition makes the rock even more interesting, hence the title of this virtual cache. It is best to find this virtual cache by approaching it from the Napa side instead of the Fairfield side. If you approach it from Fairfield, you will most likely miss it. Starting at the begining of Monticello Road, where Trancas, Silverado Trail, and Monticello intersect, it is approximately 3.5 miles up the hill on Monticello Road. The road will be quite windy on the way up. As you approach the cache driving in your car, you will see it on your right hand side. There is a turnout right before the object, but there is a sign that says No Parking. If you decide to pull into the turnout, be careful because there are cars passing by swiftly. To turn around and go back towards Napa, go past the virtual cache about .25 miles and there is an area on your LEFT hand side at N 38 21.261 W 122 13.182 where you can turn around and head back towards Napa. Again, watch for traffic as it can get heavy in this area. After you find the cache, first e-mail us that you found it and answer these questions. 1. What is the predominant feature of this rock formation that was added on years later by man? 2. What color is the predominant feature? 3. What is the rock formation doing? We will then e-mail you back and you can then enter your log on the web cache page. Hope you enjoy this virtual cache!

This geocache is in memory of our fellow geocaching buddy Ramla. She loved going out with us and the other pups of the gang and finding new and exciting geocaches. This is Ramla at one of her favorite caches, Hey Buddy, Gotta Light?
