The trail head is located in the parking lot on Red Maple Dr. Nice
hike. Good trail. Some hills. The trail is 2.1 miles round trip.
The park rangers are very nice, if you see one take the time to
speak to them. The hours are Standard time: M-Su 6am-6pm, Daylight
Saving: M-Su 6am-9pm
The cache is 130 Ft. more or less at 64 deg. from ground zero.
Ground zero is on the trail. The cache is a small ammo box. Hope
the big tree don't mess up your GPS reading. There are the remains
of an old home stead all around this area. Please do not distroy
it. By turning rocks over or moving them. Little Gap Trail is a 2.1
mile trail which passes through a variety of woodland habitats. It
will take you approximately 90 minutes to travel from a Loblolly
Pine dominated forest to a large hardwood forest including White
and Red Oaks,Hickory and Many other native South Carolina trees.
Along the way, be on the look out for squirrels, white-tailed deer,
rabbit, fox and other types of wildlife you may encounter. The
Little Gap Trail is a moderately sloped trail which is limited to
foot traffic only. Please recover cache when you are finished.
