Geocache Description:

This is a straight forward and basic virtual cache, with some unusual properties. This cache is in an urban environment, please be aware of traffic, respecting all rules of the area(ie use crosswalks on signals only etc.)

The Whispering Bench is located in Central Vermont. Having lived in the area for most of my life, I had not realized that the whispering bench existed until recently. It is located on the outer edge of a public park. In the warmer months, there is an outdoor concert series that you may be lucky enough to witness. To truly experience the whispering bench, you will need to bring a friend along with you. Find the granite bench and sit at one end, get your friend to sit at the other. Whisper quietly and see just how easy it is to hear at the other end of the bench. There is a statue near the center of the round bench. Email us with the date the statue was erected to recieve credit for the find.
If you are interested in more granite carvings, please find your way up Washington street to the granite museum, it has a statue of Robert Burns in the front. If you are lucky enough to go inside, you will see where one half of "AchStone" went to middle school(Seth). Please take the time to explore the city, there are many granite statues through out the town that must be viewed in person to truly appreciate them.
Hope you enjoy the cache.
Seth and Rhonda
aka "AchStone"
