Geocache Description:

Only at Low Tide, this is a serious scramble not to be taken lightly, but has an extremely rewarding view!

This is a wonderful location, I've driven by it for years, and finally got the time to treat it to a geocache. The cache is an ammo box to match the surroundings. The terrain rating is not to be taken lightly. It can be done without any special equipment. I'm over 40 and out of shape and I made it, but if you have a concern with height or a little scrambling, this may not be your cup of tea. You should be prepared to do a mini pull up to get to the top, and some sliding to get back down. Long pants, boots and gloves are a good idea. The safe parking is at N45 33.858 W123 56.202, watch out for the train. Remember...unless you want to really wade or swim, this one should only be attempted at low tide. Again this is a challenging scramble, you may have to climb up roots and branches. There are at least three trails up to the top, each with it's own challenge. So you meander down the beach, gather your wits and start scaling the rocks. Once you get to the top of the hill, you should detect a north/south path that is fairly level. You will likely have to be crawling along that path looking (carefully) over the edge facing the highway. The cache is securely anchored to a tree. Please use extreme caution on this cache. The climb up is not easy, and the climb down is even more challenging. The container is anchored so it should't fall, however, PLEASE take care to conceal the container and cover the installation with dead branches and twigs so we can keep it here for awhile. Remember the best coverage is live brush, please take extra care to not break live branches or brush that can help hide the cache.
