Geocache Description:

This is a nice little multi stage cache hunt I set up for the locals who I believe are under the assumption that I do not know how, or will not, walk. In crow miles, this cache is somewhere around 3.75 point to point miles to the cache and around 6.70 miles round trip. If your a crow.

I have debated on placing a cache here as it is a very special and unique place. Unlike any other I have seen in Central Oregon. That is why to start off, it will be for members only until I hear how things are going. I am some what surprised that none of the other local cachers have planted a cache here.

If this is not the Premiere rock formation in the Badlands, I want to see what is.

You will have to walk to locate this cache. On your stroll, watch for Mulies, Elk, Speedgoats, Quill pigs, Songdogs, Maybe a large Cat or Bear - I found the tracks but not the critters - and a mess of Birds. The last tag will give you a view of The Badlands Rock, which is off limits from March first through August Thirty-first every year for nesting birds.

This cache hunt will start at the above posted coordinates. Park at the trail head here, grab a map, strap on your pack and get going. You will be looking for some copper tags about 3 inch by 3 inch with numbers stamped on them and screwed to Juniper trees in one fashion or the next.

The first tag is kinda hidden just for where it is but the rest should be real easy. One tag leads to the next of course. The second and third tags will have other information as in partial cords for the final cache. The forth tag is a stand alone tag, just the last numbers you will need. I am sure you will be able to figure out the order. Either write the numbers down or start a dummy waypoint and edit and fill in as needed until you get all the numbers. I was getting a lot of bounce in the numbers
when I set this up so be forewarned that the numbers might not be right on.

The cache is an ammo can stashed in some rocks - duh - and is kinda well hidden. You will have to choose the right trail at the fork to get to the cache and you will have a great view of the area and where the trail forks.

I would think allowing about six hours for this cache hunt would be about right. Pack a lunch, lots of water, extra film and have at it. Enjoy.
