Geocache Description:

This is our first cache. It is located near the very first cache we ever found and wanted to pay tribute to the area with ours.

Update: Check the park hours! As of Nov/2012 the park is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and closes at 6:00 PM. They are always subject to change.

The coordinates are for the parking lot at Gibson Park. From there you will need to locate the plaque (very short walk) near the log cabin commemorating the gunsmiths that made the Jamestown Long Rifles during the 19th century. If you have a few minutes, it's worth taking a look around at the rest of the historical information at the site. The plaque contains a numbered list of the gunsmiths that worked on the Jamestown rifles. The numbers on the plaque for the following gunsmiths will be the last numbers of the cache coordinates:

James Archer N 36'02. 00 _

William C. Gardner W 79'56. 7 _ _

The cache area is a little rocky, so please watch your step. The cache is in a small ammo box. Included in the original contents are: a new set of Travel Bug tags, Geo lapel pin, patch & stickers, small pocketknife, folding binoculars, little bear, coupon for a free large pizza from our local "authentic" Italian restaurant, and other goodies.
