Located near the parking lot with easy access. Might be slippery in wet weather. Has a sharp drop off so might be dangerous for young children. Path is quite wide. Cache is off the path and pretty well hidden. Altitude about 93 ft. Revisited site after seeing pictures of a very soggy bunch of stuff. Put new stuff in an ammo box (green)and left a new log book and a few other items. Our next cache will be in a more acessible (for us) site!
This cache is located in Flag Pond Nature Park in southern maryland. It's a rubbermaid container (2 quart) with a disposable camera (take pictures.) There is an autographed Bonnie Rideout tape (from the McHenry festival in early June,) a log book and pen and some little stuff for fun. This is our first cache so we got kinda carried away. The park is open till 7:30 weekends and 5:30 weekdays. It's a perfect place for a picnic with shaded tables. There is a $6.00 per car charge to get in ( http://www.calvertparks.org/fpp.html ) so if you get there early in the day you can enjoy all the park has to offer (like spending hours looking for sharks teeth on the beach!) We saw a family of Mute Swans - mom, dad and several teenagers! Watch out for the spider web guarding the way to the cache.
