Located about 10 miles from downtown Prescott. Take Gurley St. west
to Thumb Butte Picnic area. The road changes to dirt (okay for 2WD)
and is now FR373. Stay on FR373 for 5 miles to the trailhead of
FT264 (N34-30.634, W112-33.447). Hike in on FT264 about 1/4 mile -
YOU ARE NOW CLOSE - Should find it from here. USE CAUTION if you go
near the cliff edge. Above 6000' altitude with an unrestricted view
to the West (you can see California on a clear day - of course
maybe you don't want to!!).
The view from the area around the location is spectacular
(especially at sunset). Try to plan your expedition near sunset, so
you can enjoy the gorgeous SW colors.
