North of Lk. Havasu east side of Hwy 95.
Cache is near the base of the Mitt facing the Hwy.ELEVATION 1429'
Located on BLM land, we checked at the assessor's office.
This is our 1st cache placed and apparently more difficult to find than we thought? The cache is located "UP" The mountain near the base of the Mitt.NOTE your elevation, the cache is at 1429'. We went out today 4-5-03, to see what we could do to make this more attainable?
We park on the shoulder of Hwy 95 north of the 193 mile marker. From there it was a 20 minute walk to the cache. Head Northeasterly to:
N 34 37.083 and W 114 20.318 this should have you at the base of what appears to be a Large sand pile/hill? from here if you look up you should see a small stack of rocks on top. Get up on top of that hill and follow a faint foot path up towards the base of the "Mitt" We placed stacks of rock and "Arrows" out of rock along the way. The last few minutes walk and 50 or so feet may be a scramble for some?
(There are loose rocks and dirt) Right on top of the cache we placed a YELLOW SMILEY FACE rock...not anymore, someone stole it! Good luck Hope you find it!
A short scramble the last 30/50 feet is worth the effort.
Elevation 1429' Nice view of the Colorado River and sometimes snow covered mountains to the north.
